Briefadel
Briefadel (in German) or brevadel (in Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish) are persons and families who have been ennobled by letters patent. Briefadel contrasts with Uradel, whose enoblement predates issuing of letters patent. The term dates to the early nineteenth century.[1]
