Brinsmead is a suburb of the city of Cairns in Far North Queensland, Australia. It located 8 km (5.0 mi) west of the city centre. The suburb takes its name from the Brinsmead Gap, a topographical feature between the hills of the Whitfield Range, in turn named after Horace Brinsmead.[3] Freshwater Christian College is located in Brinsmead.
