Bruce Gelb is an American businessman and diplomat. He is the retired president of Clairol and former vice chairman of Bristol-Myers Squibb.[2]
Early life and education
Gelb's father, Lawrence M. Gelb, founded Clairol in 1931.[3] Gelb attended Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts.[4] In 1941, at the academy, Gelb met George H. W. Bush.[3] After service in the military, Gelb received a B.A. from Yale in 1950 and an M.B.A. from Harvard in 1953.[4]

He is also currently a Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Madison Square Boys and Girls Club; a Life Trustee of Choate Rosemary Hall; a Board member of the United Nations Development Corporation; a member of the Board of Trustees of the American Council on Science and Health; Honorary Chairman and a Regent of the Center for Security Policy; and a member of the Advisory Board of the USC Center on Public Diplomacy.[2]
