Brycen Martin (born May 9, 1996) is a Canadian ice hockey defenceman. He is currently playing in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Everett Silvertips. Martin was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the third round (74th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

Martin was rated as a top prospect[1] who was viewed as a possible first round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft,[2] however he was not taken until the third round when the Buffalo Sabres drafted him 74th overall.[3]

Playing career

Martin was selected by the Swift Current Broncos second overall in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft.[4] He has played with the Swift Current Broncos since the 2011–12 WHL season.[5] His outstanding play was rewarded when he was chosen to skate in the 2014 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.[6]

International play

As a 15-year-old he represented Canada at the 2012 Winter Youth Olympics,[7] and he helped the Canada Pacific squad capture a Silver Medal at the 2013 World U-17 Hockey Challenge.[8]
