Chateau Bubnjarci

Bubnjarci (until 1918 St. Kosma and Damian) is a village in Croatia on the Slovenian border. The name Bubnjarci (Croatian: Bubnjar = drummer) comes from the time when the inhabitants in the 15–16th centuries, the Knights of Ozalj and Ribnik against the Turks served as a signal drummer. The name Bubnjarački Brod was a part of Bubnjarci and ranged from Bukovac to Žakanje in the 16th century. Bubnjarci was first mentioned in the 15th century, with a manor house same name. In that time it was one of the most important castles in Croatia. The exact position was the plot number 93, clearly visible on the cadastral map of 1860. Geography

History

He was married to the sister whose mother, Anna Karoline Trenz (Nettie), born Drašković (24 May 1857 † 6 May 1924), daughter of Count Trenz . House had two brothers and one older brother and he was the third Child. The youngest sister, the composer Katherine von Escherich (Kitty) (25 November 1855 in Varaždin, † 4 October 1916 in Vienna), was married to Gustav von Escherich, Professor of Mathematics in Vienna. A famous grandson of Anton Baron House is Hermann A. Haus († 2003 in Lexington). Anton House and his family were in 1918 (posthumously) was raised to the baronetcy (of Hohernwart).

Attractions
