Burke family

Three members of the Burke family from Western Australia were active in Australian politics:

Thomas (Tom) Burke (28 August 1910 – 17 January 1973) was a member of the Parliament of Australia. He was a Labor Party MP from 1943 to 1955, representing Perth.

His son Brian Thomas Burke (born in Perth, 25 February 1947) was premier of Western Australia from 25 February 1983 until his resignation on 25 February 1988.

Another son, Terence (Terry) Joseph Burke (born in Perth, 1 February 1942) is a former member for the seat of Perth in the Western Australian Legislative Assembly between 1968 and 1987.
