BuyNOW TV is a Canadian English language direct response specialty shopping channel owned by BuyNOW Media Inc. which is wholly owned by serial entrepreneur Evan Kosiner.[1]
The channel launched in the summer of 2014 initially on Rogers Cable in both standard and high definition television in Ontario, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland and Labrador.[2] The channel was subsequently launched on additional television services including Zazeen and V Media. The channel also live streams on YouTube.
Programming
BuyNOW TV features direct response advertising in short and long form from a range of categories including travel, beauty products, and fashion, among others.
BuyNOW TV's screen is formatted with a smaller video screen than most other television channels with the right and bottom portions of the screen consisting of a ticker, consisting of static advertisements.
Licensing
BuyNOW TV is classified as a teleshopping service by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) and, thus, is exempted from requiring a CRTC-issued licence to operate and most other CRTC requirements to which pay TV and specialty channels are subject.[3]
