Byeonsa (Korean: 변사) is a Korean word that referred to orators that worked in Korean cinema theaters in the Silent Era of movies at stood near the screen. They narrated and commented on the events that occurred on the screen. Some of them were very popular and audiences stormed theaters not only to see their favorite actors, but because of the popularity of certain byeonsa.
