Byun Jang-ho (born April 27, 1940) is a South Korean film director. Byun made about 90 films in a career that spans more than 30 years. His film Love Me Once Again Despite Hatred '80 (1980) is the greatest box office hits in 1980.[2][3]

His film Potato (1988) is a remake of a 1967 film and the second adaptation of Kim Dong-in's short novel of the same name. It won Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Screenplay and Best Music at the 26th Grand Bell Awards in 1987.[4]

  1. Byun Jang-ho's birthdate: movie.naver.com gave the 1940 date in the introduction, but the text said he was born in 1935. Two articles said he was born in 1939. However, Daum agrees with the 1940 birthdate . All the news articles from when he was named to the National Academy of Arts in 2012 agree that he was 72 at the time . Similarly he won an art award from Goyang City in 2007 and the article said he was 67 at the time . It seemed the 1940 date is more likely to be correct. Researched by User 58.176.246.42.
