C. H. Sekar is an Indian politician and incumbent Member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from the Gummidipundi constituency. He represents the Desiya Murpokku Dravidar Kazhagam party.[1]

Background

C. H. Sekar born in Raipur in the year 1979. He is an entrepreneur and has various businesses. He holds an Engineer degree in mechanical engineering.

Political career

He entered politics in the year 2004. And in 2005 when Desiya Murpokku Dravidar Kazhagam party was formed he joined DMDK. He contested the Assembly Elections under DMDK ticket in 2006 for the first time, when he was 27 years old. He was then the District Secretary of the party. Without any alliance with major parties, he secured 23,000 votes, which was then one of the top achievements of DMDK. During the 2011 Assembly elections, he contested under DMDK ticket and secured nearly 1 lakh (100,000) votes (55% of vote share) and won with more than 30,000 votes margin.[2]

Achievements

At that time of elections, he promised to get the a bus depot to connect the rural areas, a sports stadium to promote sports among youth and to make Periyapalayam temple a tourist centre.[3]

Within two years, he obtained the approval from the Government for the same.[4]

Career

C.H.Sekar who is also into various business, a successful entrepreneur too. He produced Maalai Pozhudhin Mayakathilaey under his banner Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Creations which is being headed by his wife Mayuri Sekar. [5]
