C. Jayan Babu
C. Jayan Babu is a politician from Kerala, India, belonging to the Communist Party of India (Marxist). In 1988 He became the Mayor of Thiruvananthapuram for the first time, He is the youngest Mayor in Thiruvananthapuram to be in the power so far. In 2000 He became the Chairman of Thiruvananthapuram Development Authority(TRIDA). Then again in 2005 (2005 to 2011) he became the 42nd mayor of the state capital Thiruvananthapuram. He is the only person who has been elected as a Thiruvananthapuram Mayor twice.
He is CPI(M) Thiruvananthapuram district committee member. The Kannur party conference elected him to party state control commission. He represents the Pappanamcode ward in the City Council. He got married to P. Suprabha who holds the position of Kerala State Librarian in Kerala and they have a daughter named Revathy JayanBabu who is a fashion designer living in ChennaiTamil Nadu. A. Sampath who is the member of parliament is his brother in law.[1]
