Overview

Founded in 2008 in Edison, NJ, CARiD.com is operated by Onyx Enterprises, a privately owned automotive parts and accessories distributor. In 2010 the company expanded and moved their corporate offices, contact center, and warehouse facilities to a larger facility in Cranbury, NJ. The company’s dedicated wheel and tire facility was expanded in 2014.[1]

Web Presence

In 2013 the CARiD website averaged over 3,000,000 visits per month. CARiD.com has received recognition for its industry leading web design[2] as well as its user engaging social media campaigns.[3] As of December 2014 – the CARiD Facebook page had over 1,000,000 likes.

CARiD received its Better Business Bureau (BBB)Accreditation in 2010, and currently holds an A+ rating. In 2014 CARiD was awarded a rating of Excellent from StellaService, an independent company that rates the customer service performance of online businesses. CARiD.com offers phone, chat, and email support.

my.CARiD.com

In 2013 CARiD launched my.CARiD.com, a homegrown social media platform built specifically for automotive enthusiasts. The site allows users to show off their rides by creating profiles with image galleries, as well as participate in online social activities.

NASCAR Involvement

In 2013, CARiD teamed with Husky Liners to offer the Ultimate Race Weekend Sweepstakes. The CARiD.com logo was displayed on the trunk lid of the #2 car driven by Brian Scott when he placed 9th in the Food City 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway on August 23, 2013.[11][12]

Corporate Scholarship

In 2014, CARiD introduced its Corporate Scholarship program. This $1000 scholarship is awarded twice a year to a student who submits the best photo representation of the automotive industry.[13]

Sponsorship

CARiD.com sponsors automotive based businesses, events, programs, and forums. In addition to multiple speedways, CARiD.com sponsors over 300 automotive forums and 11 Solar, Formula SAE, and Baja SAE collegiate car project programs.

Military Discount

CARiD has been supporting the US Military since 2010 by offering a discount to active duty personnel, retirees, veterans, and their families.[24]
