CG Artist

CG Artists work with the development or production of 3D or 2D world and models to video games. Normally a CG Artist works with finding the balance between artistic sensibilities and technical understanding in an effort to make a video game which works in accordance with an already planned game concept create by a development team.[1]

A CG Artist usually work close with game directors, art directors, animators, game designers and level designers in a video game development team. The CG Artists cooperation with the animators in particular are often concentrated around production character models into the video game that work in associated with the animation. The CG Artists cooperation with the game programmer is often focused on the work the 3D models and check that the 3D models functions works inside the game engine. The CG Artists work with the art directors, visual designers and the level designers is often about texturing of the 3D models.[2]

In the case of the cooperation between the Lead CG Artist and respectively the game director and the project manager this type of work is usually about the more organizational part of video games development like planning and assessing the scope of the work in relation to available time and resources in a video games development team.[3]
