CKSY-FM is a radio station located in Chatham-Kent, Ontario. Owned by Blackburn Radio, the station broadcasts an hot adult contemporary format on 94.3 FM. CKSY is co-owned with soft adult contemporary station CKUE-FM.
History
CKSY first broadcast on July 1, 1986, and was originally caarried 95.1 FM (which had previously been the frequency used by CBEE-FM, a rebroadcaster of CBC Radio One station CBE-AM in Windsor, now at 88.1 FM). CKSY originally aired an easy listening music format branded as "Cosy," which evolved into the current AC format by the mid-1990s.
In 2002, CKSY switched frequencies with sister station CKUE to obtain its current frequency of 94.3 FM. In 2005, CKSY and CKUE were acquired by Blackburn Radio.
By 2010, the station had shifted towards an hot adult contemporary format with a larger amount of current music. In 2014, sister station CKUE-FM would ultimately drop active rock for a soft AC format.[1]
