Caleb Swanigan (born April 18, 1997) is an American college basketball player for the Purdue Boilermakers. He was ranked among the top prep players in the national class of 2015 by Rivals.com, Scout.com and ESPN. He completed his senior season for Homestead High School in the 201415 academic year.

Early life and high school career

Swanigan attended Homestead High School. As a senior, he was named Indiana Mr. Basketball and led Homestead to a state title. He was ranked as a top-20 national prospect in his class.[1] He was named a McDonalds All-American.[2] Swanigan averaged 22.6 points and 13.7 rebounds as a senior.[3]

On April 10, 2015, Caleb Swanigan committed to Michigan State.[4] On May 7, Swaningan decommitted from Michigan State.[5] Then on May 19, he committed to Purdue.[6]


College career

At the beginning of his freshman season, Caleb was named as Purdue's starting power forward. He set a Purdue University record for most rebounds by a Freshman (247 as of March 6, 2016) and was named to the 2016 Big Ten All Freshman Team.

International play

On June 18, 2015, Swanigan was announced as a member of the 12-man 2015 USA Basketball Men’s U19 World Championship Team for the 2015 FIBA Under-19 World Championship.[7]
