The California Flats Solar Project is a 280 megawatt (MW) photovoltaic power station, to be built in Monterey County, California using thin-film technology manufactured by First Solar. The project is expected to begin construction in 2016 and be online by 2018.[1] The plant has two power purchase agreements with Apple Computers buying 130MW to power its California operations. Pacific Gas and Electric Co. has contracted for 150MW.[2]
