CamGSM

Cellcard, a trademark of CamGSM Co. Ltd, is a Cambodian owned and operated telecommunications company, offering a full range of mobile communications and entertainment services for both consumer and corporate markets. Launched in 1998, Cellcard has become Cambodia’s standard for quality, value and service and continues to be vigilant in developing new ways to support and enhance the way its customers communicate through regular network upgrades, development of innovative plans and products, and putting an emphasis on customer care.

History

CamGSM Co. Ltd, a corporation duly established in 1996, and the mother brand of Cellcard (launched in 1998), was originally a joint venture between Luxembourg-based Millicom International Cellular S.A. (61.5%) and The Royal Group of Companies (38.5%). In 2009, RG acquired Millicom’s share for US$346 million, making it the only telecommunications company in the country, 100% Cambodian owned and operated.

CSR

The company’s CSR direction stirs towards supporting education, entrepreneurship and technology. Recent partnerships include Social Enterprise Cambodia – part of Impact Hub, a global organization present in 63 cities, which provides an unlimited resource of knowledge, know-how, tools and support for young Cambodian Entrepreneurs. Start-up Weekend, an initiative by UP Global and backed by the Google for Entrepreneurs that brings together designers, developers, entrepreneurs, and experts from all domains to collaborate and launch businesses into the market. Also notable is its recent partnership with USAID and Action IEC to launch “TOS Fund” - a web-based crowd funding platform that serves as the online fund raising channels for Cambodian civil society organizations from residents in Cambodia.

Rewards program

Cellcard is notable for its Rewards Program. Partnered with over 3,000 establishments across a wide variety of consumer product and service categories, it is the largest program of its kind in Cambodia. The program is exclusive to Cellcard subscribers offering discounts, points and payment options to card holders.

Included in its partnership portfolio is Major Cineplex Cambodia - the region's largest cinema operator.
