Canaan Partners (or Canaan) is a global venture capital firm that invests in companies focused on technology (digital media, big data, cloud, enterprise, SaaS and FinTech) and healthcare (biopharmaceuticals, medtech, and digital health).

Founded in 1987, the firm has offices in Menlo Park, California, USA; Westport, Connecticut, USA; New York, New York, USA; Gurgaon, Haryana, India; and Herzliya, Israel.

As of 2012, Canaan has raised 10 funds to date, completed more than 160 exits, and currently manages $4.2 billion in capital.[1][2] Canaan has funded many technology companies, including PrimeSense, Skybox Imaging and Virsto as well as healthcare companies including Labrys Biologics, Chimerix and Advanced BioHealing. Current technology investments include Cardlytics, Ebates, Kabam, Glooko,[3] Lending Club, SOASTA and Zoosk in the U.S.; BharatMatrimony and UnitedLex in India; and LiveU in Israel.

The company's 10th and most recent fund was raised in October 2014, totaling $675 million. Canaan plans to use at least $200 million for Healthcare funding.[2]
