Canadian Senate Standing Committee On Official languages , 40th Parliament 2nd Session (January 26, 2009 – present) mandate.

On October 10, 2002, the Senate dissociated itself from the former Standing Joint Committee on Official Languages and created its own standing committee on official languages. This committee is composed of nine members, four of which shall constitute a quorum, and it is mandated to study, as the Senate may decide, bills, messages, petitions, inquiries, papers and other matters relating to official languages generally.

The Standing Senate Committee on Official Languages examines the issue of Francophone Culture in Canada.

The Standing Senate Committee on Official Languages does a preliminary study of the implementation of Part VII of the Official Languages Act, as amended by Bill S-3. (assented to on 25 November 2005)
