Cannabis in West Virginia is illegal for all purposes, and possession of even small amounts is a misdemeanor crime.
2015 medical marijuana attempt
In 2015, West Virginia Senate Bill 546 and West Virginia House Bill 2909 sought to legalize cannabis for medical use, but failed to advance prior to the end of the legislative session on 14 March.[1]
Medical cannabis bills were introduced in West Virginia in each of the five preceding years as well.[2]
