Caridina thambipillai is a species of freshwater shrimp that lives Malaysia and Indonesia. In the aquarium trade it is commonly known as 'orange' or 'sunkist' shrimp. It inhabits brackish estuaries as well as fresh-water habitats.
Until recently, captive specimens were often labeled as Caridina propinqua, but the taxonomy was clarified in 2011. This species is widely variable in color.[1]
