Carina Nicolette Wiese (born 26 February 1970) is a German actress who was born in Dresden, East Germany, and did her classical training as an actress in Leipzig. She is said to have fine riding and fencing skills, and is fluent in Russian and English.

Career

Having been a member of the ensemble of the accredited theatre "Schauspielhaus Leipzig" from 1991 to 1993 she appeared on similarly well renowned stages in Germany's capital, Berlin, and her home-town, Dresden.

She has performed in radio dramas, feature films and a variety of popular German TV shows of different genres.

Subsequently she was cast in a supporting role for Alarm für Cobra 11 – Die Autobahnpolizei in which she played the part of Andrea Schäfer, where she remained for nearly ten years as a result of her widespread popularity.

Although she has usually had less screen time than her main male co-actors, she has nevertheless played a key role. Whenever the male heroes would be stuck at a fork in the road, not knowing how to continue, she would use her skills as a hacker or just her female intuition to get them going and to make them succeed in the end.

By contrast to other characters who left this series for good, "Andrea Schäfer" didn't die. Instead, she married "Semir" (who is played by Erdoğan Atalay) and therefore returns occasionally as a guest star.

She has also established herself as an acting teacher.

Personal life

Her son, Samual, was born in 1992.
