Carl Ablett (born 19 December 1985 in Rothwell, West Yorkshire) is an English professional rugby league footballer who plays for the Leeds Rhinos in the Super League competition. His nickname is "40/20" as he looks 40 even though he is in his 20s.
He is a versatile player who can play in a number of positions, frequently playing in the second row but can also play at centre or at lock. Ablett has won five Super League Grand Finals with the Leeds Rhinos, three of which he played at centre, one in the second row and one off the bench.
Career
In 2005, he spent a month on loan at London Broncos.[2]
Ablett was called up to the England squad for the 2011 Rugby League Four Nations tournament.[3] However, he did not get any game time in the competition. In 2012 he along with Zak Hardaker signed five-year contract with the Leeds.[4]
Ablett was selected in England's 24-man squad for the 2013 Rugby League World Cup.
