Carlisle School is a private school, located in Martinsville, Virginia, United States, that takes both day and boarding students. It was established in 1968. The Head of School is Thomas P. Hudgins Jr..[1]

Organisation

Carlisle educates from preschool to grade 12, serving around 500 students.[1] The school is structured as a Lower School (PK-5), Middle School (6-8) and Upper School (9-12) that offers an International Baccalaureate Program.[2]

Accreditation

Carlisle School is accredited by the Virginia Association of Independent Schools,[1] the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools,[3] and is recognized by the Virginia Board of Education as an accredited school through the Virginia Council for Private Education.[4]

Athletics

The school competes in the Virginia Independent Conference in male athletics and in the Blue Ridge Conference in female athletics. The boys basketball team has won 7 state championship, more than any private school in Virginia.
