The bus station, of seven stands and a travel centre is situated on Drury Lane just off Lonsdale Street in the city centre. Buses go from the bus station as far afield as Whitehaven, Keswick, Penrith, Langwathby, Newcastle upon Tyne, Dumfries and also Stranraer (Service X75 only).
Stagecoach's Carlisle "Citi" services and 79/179/379 Annan/Dumfries operate from West Tower Street and The Lanes (Lowther Street entrances).
