Carlos Esteban Ross Cotal (born 23 November 1990) is a Chilean footballer who plays as (striker) or (winger). He currently plays in (Gimnasia y Esgrima (M)) of Argentina. Ross has played in three teams of Chilean Primera División. Has done his career in four countries, Chile, Sweden, Israel and Argentina. It has two appearances with the (Chilean Selection).

Career

Ross born in the city of Copiapó. It was formed in the divisions of club (Audax Italiano). He was champion of Chile in the U-17 category. In 2009, he was elected as "The Best of the Best" as the best player, of all lower divisions of (Audax Italiano).

Debuts in (Audax Italiano) of the (Chilean Primera División), with 18 year, in the Apertura (2009), against (Palestino). Has a good start of race, which projected him as a player full of talent and future.[1][2] In 2011, he signed to (Coquimbo Unido) where he came within two goals of becoming the scorer of championship.[3] It was the scorer of team with 12 goals. In 2012, has a step by the Runner-up of Chilean football O'Higgins F.C.,[4] led by Coach (Eduardo Berizzo). Later it was rumored in Belgian Sites, (K.A.A. Gent) of the (Belgian Pro League) be interested in the Chilean Player Carlos Ross of 22 years,[5] but in the end continues in Chilean football. In 2013, he played in two clubs C.D. Copiapó[6] and Unión La Calera,[7] totaling 32 games, 5 goals and 9 assists, between national championship and (Copa Chile). In 2014, with 23 years, has his first experience in foreign countries, in (Husqvarna FF),[8] (Superettan League, Sweden). In 2014/15 firm again in (C.D. Copiapó), is one of the figures of the championship, according to the newspaper (Las Últimas Noticias).[9] In June 2015, with 24 years, has his second experience abroad, in (Hapoel Nazareth Illit)[10] of Israel. In 2016, he signed to (Gimnasia y Esgrima (M)) of Argentina.

International career

Has been in the Chile U-20 led by coach Ivo Basay.[11]

After a run of good matches led him to be sparring of Marcelo Bielsa in the national team.

Was part of the group of sparring, who traveled to the 2010 FIFA World Cup.[12]

He made his debut in the national team against Venezuela,[13] with 19 years, 31 March 2010, entering by José Pedro Fuenzalida, with the number 18, in the city of Temuco, Chile, in that match also they played Gary Medel, Eduardo Vargas, Charles Aránguiz, among others.

His second game was against the selection of Northern Ireland,[14] entering by Arturo Vidal. in the city of Chillán, Chile.

Participates in a friendly match which made Chile. In South Africa, against New Zealand.[15]
