Caroline Carver (author)
CJ Carver is a half-English, half-Kiwi author living just outside Bath. She lived in Australia for 10 years before taking up long distance rallies, driving London to Saigon, London to Cape Town and covering 14,000 miles on the Inca Trail. Her first novel Blood Junction won the CWA Debut Dagger and was selected by Publishers Weekly as one of the best mystery books of the year. CJ has written a further seven crime novels which have been published in the UK, US and translated into several languages.
Current work
CJ's latest novel Spare Me The Truth, the first book in the Dan Forrester series, published in April 2016, has been reviewed by Michael Jecks: Nothing short of brilliant... a sort of Jason Bourne meets Silence of the Lambs. Bestselling novelist Simon Kernick says: CJ Carver is a top notch thriller writer and Spare Me The Truth is right up there with the best.
The Honest Assassin, the third book in the Jay McCaulay series, was reviewed by Booklist in 2010: Another nail-biting suspense thriller... plenty of unsettling twists and turns, a high-octane plot and a flashy but appealing heroine make this an excellent choice.
The first Jay McCaulay book, Gone Without Trace, a thriller about human trafficking, has been described as a terrific page-turner by Harlan Coben (May 2007), and an exciting adventure by the Literary Review (August 2007). In December 2007, the TLS said: Well-researched, shocking, moving and exciting, "Gone Without Trace" shows that a British writer can take on the most vigorous of the Americans.
