Location
Cascade Mountain is located on Interstate 90/94 between Madison, Wisconsin and Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. It is 30 minutes northwest of Madison and 15 to 20 minutes south of Wisconsin Dells.[2]
Trails
Cascade Mountain offers 36 trails varying from beginner, intermediate, to advanced. Open to both skiers and snowboarders the runs break down to 38% beginner runs, 24% intermediate runs, and 38% advanced runs.[3]"The longest trail at Cascade Mountain is called "Far Out", a beginner cruiser trail that takes you past old growth forests, waterfalls, rock formations and more scenic terrain. It is 5,300 feet long, or just over a mile."[4]
Terrain Park
The most popular park at Cascade Mountain is the North Park. With many exciting and progressive features[5] the Terrain Park offers thrills for Skiers and Snowboarders around. A new addition to the Terrain Park is the beginner/progression trails which helps beginners learn the techniques needed for the larger terrain.
Snow Tubing
Snow tubing at Cascade Mountain is a great activity for the entire family. Sliding down an 800' long shoot, it is a thrilling experience. In addition, with a surface lift, your trip to the top will be as effortless as the trip down.[6] Before you visit Cascade Mountain it is advised that you visit the website http://www.cascademountain.com/ and check to make sure the Snow Tube Park is open. Depending on how much natural snow Cascade Mountain has, or how cold it is in order to make snow the Snow Tube Park is not always open when the ski hills are. There is no height or age requirement in order to go snow tubing, however it is up to the parent or Guardian if the child needs to be accompanied.[7]
Ski Team
The Cascade Mountain Junior Race Team is an enjoyable way for youth to spend their winter. For the past few years, Cascade Mountain has been the number 1 team in the WIJARA race league. They participate in all 4 WIJARA races, at Chestnut Mountain, Sundown Mountain, Tyrol Basin, and they host one race.
