CaseStack is a provider of supply chain management (SCM) services including warehousing, transportation, and supply chain management software (SCMS). It uses a proprietary software as a service platform for its collaborative retailer consolidation programs. Based in Santa Monica, California, CaseStack has been recognized in Food Logistics’ Top 85 3PL Providers,[1] Global Logistics & Supply Chain Strategies 100 Great Supply Chain Partners[2] and Inbound Logistics’ Top 100 3PL Providers.[3] CaseStack has also been recognized as one of the best places to work in its two largest locations for multiple years.
History
CaseStack was founded in 1999 by former Procter & Gamble executive, Dan Sanker. Besides the Santa Monica, CA office the Company also has major regional offices in Fayetteville, Arkansas and Cincinnati, offsite locations in Manila and India, and American Institute of Baking food certified warehouses in Seattle, Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta and Scranton. There is also a warehouse in Toronto, Canada which aggregates to over 3,000,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space for the company.
Sustainability
CaseStack’s collaborative business practices and technology platform aim to lower unnecessary costs and reduce negative environmental impact across all modes; less-than-truckload, truckload, air, ocean, intermodal, expedited and parcel. Sanker, also the founder and managing director of Green Valley Network, initiated the industry’s first biodiesel program and has been recognized by Supply & Demand Chain Executive Magazine as a "Green Supply Chain Professional to Know.”[4] Utilizing consolidation programs, offered by companies, including CaseStack, Hanson Logistics and Millard, is a way for mid-sized businesses to achieve a critical mass in transportation, so they can more easily compete with the largest consumer packaged goods companies. Retailer-driven consolidation programs combine various products headed to the same retailer on one purchase order, shortening delivery times and reducing costs and damages. Consolidation programs are sustainable by design; they reduce the frequency of less-than-truckload orders, thereby reducing carbon emissions. For suppliers, the conservation is most evident in transportation cost savings.[5]
Technology
CaseStack offers three distinct technology editions for logistics services, a Transportation Edition for clients who outsource only transportation services, a Logistics Edition that includes warehousing, and an Enterprise Edition for clients who integrate with their enterprise-wide systems. CaseStack's Cloud Services division provides three other distinct SaaS products; including an on-demand Transportation Management System (TMS), a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and a Business Analytics (BA) product. The TMS and WMS are multimodal logistics management systems that leverage data science, and the BA tool aggregates data for broad-based visibility and insights which are otherwise often soloed across organizations and trading partners.
