Casey Hill (born c. 1986) is an American basketball coach, currently working as the head coach for the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA Development League. He was a former assistant for the Warriors and the Dakota Wizards.[1]
College career
Hill played for the Trinity Tigers from 2003-2007. During that time period the Tigers made the NCAA Division III Playoffs three times. The 2004-05 squad competed in the NCAA Elite Eight. The Tigers also won two Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships in the same time period.[2]
Coaching career
Tokyo Apache
During the 2010-2011 season He served as an assistant basketball coach underneath his father, a longtime NBA coach Bob Hill for the Tokyo Apache. The Tokyo Apache were a basketball team which competed in the top-level Japanese professional League.[3]
Dakota Wizards/Santa Cruz Warriors
In 2011, he served as an assistant basketball coach for the Dakota Wizards, the NBA Development League affiliate of the Golden State Warriors.[4]
After the team moved to Santa Cruz and became the Santa Cruz Warriors in 2012, he continued in the same role.
In 2013, the Golden State Warriors named Casey Hill named as the head coach of the Santa Cruz Warriors.[5]
On April 27, 2015, the team won the 2015 NBA Development League Championship.[6]
On October 21, 2015, he re-signed with the Warriors.[7]
