Casper Crowell
Casper Crowell (also known a Casper Odinson Cröwell), born 1952 in the United States, is an Odinist (a form of Germanic neopaganism), author, "spiritual leader of a religious non-profit organization, the Holy Nation of Odin, Inc."[1] and former leading member of the Aryan Brotherhood, currently incarcerated in a California maximum-security prison for attempted murder.
Background
Born in 1952 in the United States, Cröwell was initially incarcerated for burglary,[2] and whilst the SPLC maintains that he is serving a life sentence for murder,[3] he himself has said that this is an attempt to "slander and besmirch" and in actuality he is "serving a 54 to life sentence for shooting (not killing) a creep who was beating a woman in my presence. (my original 25 to life, 54 to life, + 14 years was combined in 2003)."[4] He openly states that he is a White Separatist and not a White Supremacist.[5] He holds duel Ph.D.'s in the fields of Comparative Religion and Metaphysics, as well as a Doctorate of Divinity in Odinist Theology, and a minor law degree. He has been interviewed by the National Geographic Channel for a documentary.[6] And in 2007 endorsed the presidential candidacy of Republican Ron Paul.[7]
Aryan Brotherhood
Cröwel is a former leader in the violent and racist Aryan Brotherhood prison gang. He left that organization because it wasn’t pure enough.
Odinism
After quitting the Aryan Brotherhood, Crowell busied himself with the Odinism organization, which lists his wife, Linda, as executive administrative director. Linda Crowell works for the Social Security Administration in Fresno. Crowell also began another organization with a website called Vinland Folk Resistance that extols the virtues of Odinism and racism. On that website, he urged fellow white nationalists to resolve their differences and work toward one goal: “WHITE PRIDE!†His wife contributed an essay, “On Aryan Beauty.â€
