Catherine Ann Cline
Catherine Ann Cline (1927-2005) was an American historian of contemporary Britain, and the former chair of the history department of the Catholic University of America.
She received her BA from Smith College, her MA from Columbia University, and her PhD from Bryn Mawr College, where she worked with Felix Gilbert. Before joining the faculty at Catholic University, Cline taught at Smith College, Saint Mary's College (Indiana), and Notre Dame College (New York). She received a research fellowship from the American Philosophical Society.
