The Cavalry is a fictional superhero team appearing in books published by Marvel Comics, in particular those associated with The Avengers. The group of heroes first appear as the official Georgia Fifty State Initiative team and were created by Christos Gage and Stefano Caselli.

Publication history

The Cavalry begins as one of the superhero teams under the Fifty State Initiative, a government plan enacted following the conclusion of the 2006-2007 "Civil War" storyline. Thor Girl, one of the team members, is revealed to be a Skrull impostor during the 2008 "Secret Invasion" storyline.[1]

During the 2011 "Fear Itself" storyline, the Cavalry (minus Crime-Buster) stops a holdup in Atlanta right before they are among the Initiative teams summoned to a meeting by Prodigy regarding magical hammers that have crashed into the earth.[2]
