Celine Byrne
Celine Byrne (born 1980) is an Irish soprano.
Her father played Gaelic football for Kildare and she herself played Gaelic football and camogie. She is dyslexic. She first saw opera live at Milan's La Scala when she worked there as an au pair after leaving school.[1] Ten years after receiving her first singing lesson she won the prestigious Maria Callas Grand Prix and Gold Medal in Athens.[2]
On television she has performed on The Late Late Show and received her own episode of The Meaning of Life.[3][4]
