Certified Professional Locksmith

Certified Professional Locksmith (CPL) is a trade qualification awarded to members of the Associated Locksmiths of America who have passed the required tests.[1]

This is the third of four designations available from ALOA. It is an advanced level of certification, demonstrating proficiency in a wide range of security aspects. Certified Registered Locksmiths are eligible to test for CPL status. That status is a prerequisite for testing to become a Certified Master Locksmith. The CPL accreditation is proctored by ALOA, as a part of its Proficiency Registration Program (PRP).

In UK body responsible for certification of locksmith industry is Master Locksmiths Association.[2]
