Chakravyuha is a 2016 Indian Kannada language action-thriller film written and directed by M. Saravanan, Produced by N. K. Lohith under the Sunshine Creations banner, it stars Puneeth Rajkumar and Rachita Ram in lead roles. Apart from them, the film features an ensemble cast of Arun Vijay, Sadhu Kokila, Bhavya, Abhimanyu Singh and Rangayana Raghu in important roles. S. Thaman composed the film's score and soundtrack. The film is remake of Tamil film Ivan Veramathiri.[1]

The film released theatrically on 29 April 2016 and received positive reviews from critics.

Cast

Plot

Lohith, an architect, witnesses cold-blooded murder and chaos at the law college caused by the law minister. Angered by the apathy, he takes matters in his own hands. What ensues is a vigilante-style drama, with lots of action.[2]

Production

The movie has made profit even before its release. As per sources, the distribution and audio rights of the movie have been sold out for an amount of ₹30 Crores.[3]

Development

In February 2015, it was reported that M. Saravanan and Puneeth Rajkumar would work together for the first time together. S. Thaman was selected to compose the music for this film. This film, one of the highly expected movie due to its marketing.

Casting

Rachita Ram was roped to play lead actress role which marked her debut collaboration with Puneeth Rajkumar. Tamil actor Arun Vijay is making his Kannada debut as the Main villain.

Filming

The film went on the floors in 2015. A song shoot has been shot in Portugal.

Release

The film release is planned on 29 April 2016 with a premier on 28 April at Australia. It is set to have a global opening and planned to release in more than 50 countries including the UK, South Africa, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, UAE countries, US and Canada.[4]

Songs of the movie have been released on 17 March 2016 coinciding the birthday of actor Puneeth Rajkumar.

S. Thaman is composing the soundtrack album (Containing 4 Songs) and background score for the film. The song recording of the movie commenced already, Play Back singers for this movie includes N. T. Rama Rao Jr.,[5] Kajal Aggarwal and the hero of the movie Puneeth Rajkumar.

Music label Anand Audio, which has bought the rights of "Chakravyuha," unleashed the making of "Geleya Geleya" song video its official YouTube channel March 7. The song became an instant success on YouTube and went viral on social media. The 4.04-minute video had garnered over 6 lakhs views, 12,098 thumbs up (likes), 272 thumbs down (dislikes) and 1,160 comments within 72 hours.
