Chalad is a small place near Kannur town in Kerala state, South India. It is located on the route that goes from Kannur town to Azhikode, and it is one of the shortest ways to Mangalore highway frm Kannur. Kerala's famous Payyambalam beach is a major tourist attraction in this region. Chalad is no less than a complete entertainer; there are four A class theaters here. This place is the biggest part of Kannur Town. Chalad temple in one of the most sacred and old Aiyyappa Temples in Kerala . This area also bears a posh residential area for Kannur. Chalad is the political hub of Kannur Town.
