Chander Kumar (born 8 May 1944) served as Member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India. He represented the Kangra Chamba constituency of Himachal Pradesh as Member of Parliament 2004 to 2009. His political career started off when he was elected first time to Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha as Member of Legislative Assembly(MLA) from Guler(now Jawali) constituency. Year 1982 to 1984:Vice Chairman HRTC(Himachal Road Transport Corporation), Year 1984 to 1985:Deputy Health Minister, Year 1985 to 1988:Forest Minister for State, Year 1988:Agriculture Minister, Year 1993 to 1998:Cabinet Minister for [Irrigation and Public Health(IPH),Technology,Hemurja and Pollution Control Board], Year 1998 to 2003:MLA, Year 2003 to 2004:Cabinet Forest Minister, Year 2004 to 2009:Member of Parliament(Lok Sabha) representing Kangra Chamba Constituency. His son Neeraj Bharti is currently Chief Parliamentary Sectory(Department of Education) elected from Jawali Constituency of district Kangra,Himachal Pradesh. His Daughter in law Monika Bharti is also ex congress Youth President(Himachal Pradesh). He is one of the few Politicians who is known for his Honesty and Simplicity. He is a Public Servant in true sense of word. His Qualifications:Bachelor of Arts(HPU), 1966:Master Of Arts Geography(Punjab University), 1967:M.Ed, 1980:LLB(HPU).
