Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) was established in 2008 as an autonomous institution under the Societies Act, with support from the government of Bihar. An AICTE-approved institution, it is established on the lines of IIMs.[2] "It deserves the status of an IIM," says Dr. S.C. Jha, the economic advisor to the prime minister of India. The school is ranked a Top 50 management institute in India.
Campus
In a short period of four years, CIMP has achieved 100% placement for all the three batches (2008-10 First Batch, 2009-11 Second Batch and 2010-12 Third Batch) in companies. CIMP is involved in research transfer with schools like Lancashire Business School and Stockholm Business School and draws teaching materials from the Harvard Business publishing (a unit of Harvard Business School). It has been declared the first stand-alone educational institute in the country to submit all required information to the All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE), Statistics Division, Department of Higher Education, MHRD, New Delhi. It has organized more than ten national and three international seminars/conferences across the country.
Selection process
Applicants are selected on the basis of CAT/GMAT scores and are called to appear for group discussions, psychometric test and personal interviews. Upon aggregating their performance on these three grounds, a merit list is prepared and students are selected.
