Charles Duncan Drain (January 24, 1913 – January 27, 1991) was a provincial level politician from Alberta, Canada. He served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1967 to 1975 sitting with the Social Credit caucus in both government and opposition.

Political career

Drain ran for a seat to the Alberta Legislature for the first time in the 1967 Alberta general election. He defeated incumbent MLA Garth Turcott in a hotly contested four way race to pick up the Pincher Creek-Crowsnest electoral district for the governing Social Credit party.[2]

Drain ran for a second term in office in the 1971 Alberta general election. He slightly improved his margin of victory defeating two other candidates and holding his seat despite his party losing government in that election.[3]

Drain ran for re-election for the third time in the 1975 Alberta general election. He would see his popular vote collapse and get defeated by Progressive Conservative candidate Fred Bradley finishing second place out of four candidates.[4]
