Charles Edwin Herzig
Charles Edwin Herzig (August 14, 1929 – September 7, 1991) served as the first Roman Catholic bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tyler, Texas.
Biography
Born in San Antonio, Texas, Herzig was ordained to the priesthood on May 31, 1955.
On December 12, 1986, Herzig was named bishop and was consecrated on February 24, 1987. His personal secretary was Michael Emile Mahfood.
Bishop Herzig died in office.[1]
