Charles Greenwood (soldier)

Charles Greenwood (5 November 1853, Nottingham, England – 1927) was a colour sergeant of the Grenadier Guards and a Yeoman of the Guard. As a yeoman of the guard until his death in 1927 he took part in royal ceremonies and stood guard at the lying in state of King Edward VII. He was the father of Victoria Cross winner Harry Greenwood, and was interred at Tottenham Cemetery, London.
