Charles Minnigerode Beckwith
Charles Minnigerode Beckwith (June 2, 1851 in Petersburg, Virginia – April 18, 1928) was fourth bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta and a graduate of Berkeley Divinity School in Middletown, Connecticut (Class of 1881). He was ordained to the diaconate and priesthood in 1881, and served as rector of St. Luke’s Church, Atlanta, Georgia from 1881-1886; at Christ Church, Houston, Texas from 1886-1892 and Trinity Church, Galveston, Texas from 1892-1902. He was consecrated in 1892.
