Bălan (Hungarian: Almásbalázsháza) is a commune located in Sălaj County, Romania. It is composed of five villages: Bălan, Chechiş (Kettősmező), Chendrea (Kendermező), Gălpâia (Galponya) and Gâlgău Almaşului (Almásgalgó). It is situated on the Almaş River, a tributary of the Someş River.
