Cheongna International City features many convenience facilities for residents, such as the 'Clean Net' automated high-tech waste disposal system. It is among the very few cities in Korea to have this infrastructure. The system consists of a disposal container that opens if a tag on the trash bag is scanned on the built-in scanner. The disposed items are sucked into underground pipes with vacuum technology, and transported automatically to commercial landfills.
