Chhatra Bharati

Chhatra Bharati' (Hindi छात्र भारती) is one of major independent student organisation based in India. The Organisation is based on socialist ideology. Chhatra Bharati is not affiliated to any Political Party; But during elections it actively participates or give its support to an individual or like minded political parties. Chhatra bharati is a student wing of Rashtra Seva Dal. Chhatra Bharati is currently led at the All India level by Bhushan Jadhav,as President and Sandesh Modak as Working President.

In 2012-13 Chhatra Bharati launched protest all over Maharashtra against rape and violence against women. Chhatra Bharati staged an agitation at The Tribal Commissionerate at Nashik demanding suspension of senior officials of tribal development in connection with the rape of 18-year-old tribal girl.[1]

Chhatra Bharati believes that Education is a major tool of social transformation and that this concept is especially relevant in a country like India, where regressive forces still prevail. Proper education, they believe, will counteract such forces and will help to build a new society based on rationality and justice. Chhatra Bharati is an organization of students which is ever aware of its role in society. It identifies with a society's progressive forces and is totally committed to the idea of independence, democracy, and socialism.
