Chicago Boulevard System
The Chicago Boulevard System is a network of wide, planted-median boulevards that winds through the south, west, and north sides of the City of Chicago and includes a ring of parks. Most of the boulevards and parks are 3–6 miles from the Chicago Loop. Grassy medians run down the center of the boulevards; the medians and the squares both provided recreational areas for residents and have historically been a boon for development in the area.
