Chigateri is a village in the southern state of Karnataka, famous for sri Naradamuni temple which has followers mainly from Davangere, Bellary, Chitradurga districts India.[1][2] It is located in the Harapanahalli taluk of Davanagere district in Karnataka.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census, Chigateri had a population of 5492 with 2815 males and 2677 females.[1]

About Chigateri

Famous poet Mudenur Sanganna hails from this village.He was well known for his janapada sahitya.It is connected by bus from Harapanahalli to Chigateri cross, from there you can reach the village by TATA ACE, three wheeler auto service for just Rs.8/-. the village have 3 primary schools, one high school, one primary health centre which is run by govt. of karnataka, There will be Naradamuni jatra once in a year,which attracts thousands of people from central portion of karnataka.old temple of Naradamuni swamy is modernised ten years back .Another attraction near chigateri is wind mill fans along Jajikal hills which contributes some electric power to state.
