Chirakkal is a small village in Thrissur district of Kerala, South India. It is fifteen kilometers from Thrissur city, on the Cherpu-Thriprayar road. The main occupation of its inhabitants was fishing,later they migrated to the middle east.
Chirakkal is in the bank of Karuvannur River. Major area of Chirakkal is covered with paddy and coconut fields. Chirakkal has got Three Hindu temples, 1. Shiva, 2. Devi (Thiruvanikkavu Amma) and 3. Krishna, One Christian Church and One Muslim Mosque. Chirakkal has one LP government school and One management UP and High School in the name of Swami Bhodhananda Swami, the first disciple of Sree Narayana Guru.
