Chocolate Jesus (song)
"Chocolate Jesus" is a well-known song written by Tom Waits and performed on his 1999 Grammy Award-winning album Mule Variations. The lyrics describe a boy who goes to a candy store every Sunday to get his fill of chocolate Jesus. The chorus says: "Well it’s got to be a chocolate Jesus / Make me feel good inside / Got to be a chocolate Jesus / Keep me satisfied".
The song has been covered by many artists including Martin Harley, Ben Sollee and Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa.
